Mask, snorkel, fins, sunscreen, and, if you are chilly despite the water temperature never going below 25°, the wetsuit. You may have forgotten sunglasses and a beach towel. Now you're ready to visit Mantigue Island and its signature marine sanctuary.
You will arrive at the village of San Roque (20 km east of us), where the boat terminal is. You will arrive at your destination in twenty-five minutes by motorcycle or car with an additional ten minutes by local boat (banka boat. It can carry a maximum of 6 people).
In a small white sand Maldivian atoll (you can walk around the island in about 20 minutes) where mangroves and Pandanaceae plants will give you shade during the hottest hours of the day.
You can also rent a table or shade, but there is no dining place, so we recommend you bring something to drink and eat.
The most beautiful part of snorkeling and diving (of course) is the marine sanctuary area bounded by buoys connected by a large rope. You'll find it to the right of where the boats land.
We recommend you check the direction of the sea current so that you don't get tired of going against the drift.
What can you see underwater? Turtles, flute fish, sweetlips shad, clownfish, triggerfish, batfish, schools of Carangidae, eagle rays (if lucky), and classic reef fish.
Ready to dive in? Great!!! However, we want to remind you that you can stay 3 hours in Mantigue (you can extend your stay by an hour or more, this is up to you, for an extra charge).
We hope we have explained everything to you. So have fun discovering this wonderful island!
